Residential Kitchen Cabinets
Corbin Woodworks designed and built this kitchen for a major remodeling. The cabinets are face-frame style with inset cabinet doors. All the doors use soft-close hinges and the drawers likewise use soft-close glides. The cabinet cases are constructed of 3/4" prefinished maple plywood, with 1/2" thick prefinished birch backs. The face frames, door frames and drawer front frames are of 7/8" thick solid heartwood hickory. The door center panels are selected solid heartwood hickory. Shelves are 7/8" thick solid hickory. The finish is clear conversion varnish.
The cabinets consist of 22 major cases, 16 drawers, 7 slide out shelves, 9 fixed shelves and 23 raised panel doors. The following images give some different views.

The pantry consists of five large slide out shelves, each about 32" wide and 30" deep. This provides generous storage.
There is also a pull out spice rack and a pull out dishwasher companion. The large corner cabinets contain two lower and two upper wooden lazy susans to fully use the back sides of the corner cabinets. The counter tops are "Rain Forest" marble, installed by American Marble and Granite of Camas, WA. The overhang of the countertop eating space is unusually large and required installation of heavy steel bracing to support the marble. Vince designed and constructed the drawer boxes, the drawer fronts and the cabinet doors himself. |
