Media Cabinets and Walls
Media cabinet for 65" Flat Screen TV
This Media Cabinet was designed by Corbin Woodworks and built from African Sapele mahogany and stained to match other furniture in the same room. It was designed using SketchUp and the CabinetSense extension. The parts were exported into VCarve software and cut out on the Corbin Woodworks CNC. Note the curve and bead on the lower horizontal rail. The drawer boxes are solid maple with through dovetails. Finished with three coats of catalyzed conversion varnish.
Media Cabinet in Cherry
This Media cabinet was designed to have an upper compartment holding audio and video equipment that would be covered when not in use. The two finger holes are used to lift thee upper door because there was no room for handles when slid back.
The upper door lifts up and slides back to expose the electronics.
The lower doors contain pullouts and shelving.
Wall for a 70" Flat Screen TV
This Wall panel is seven feet high and eleven feet wide. It consists of premium fiddleback maple veneer glued to 3/4" thick panels, and trimmed with dark stained solid wood. The dark shelves are high grade birch plywood trimmed with solid birch. The shelf in the lower middle is to support a 70" TV, and below that is a shelf for the sound bar and two shelves for the electronics. Other shelves are for display of art objects.
Man-Cave Wall Unit
This wall unit, made from 1.75" thick poplar, 8" deep, with a driftwood stain, was made for a beach house man-cave room. Being 82" tall, final assembly had to be done after delivery. The construction is all double mortise and tenons, and most of the mortises were cut on our CNC. Finished with three coats of catalyzed conversion varnish.
Cabinet for a 50" Flat Screen TV
Vince built the upper cabinet in the photo below to match the lower cabinet the client already owned. He matched the wood, the stain color and the style. The doors are bi-fold and are on pocket sliders, so they are entirely out of the way when the display screen is operating. The drawers hold DVDs and CDs.
This photo shows the cabinet doors open and pushed back:
The drawers are the full depth of the cabinet, are made of hard maple, and have removable dividers. The widths are sized to hold multiples of DVD and CD widths.
